Dress Code
MEN
In the clubhouse and patio, for men (juniors included), their guests and visitors.
- Clothing should be neat and tasteful.
- Wearing open toed shoes such as beach saddles and flip flops are strictly prohibited.
- Golf caps and hats are prohibited.
- Wearing denim clothing is prohibited, however wearing coloured denim fabric is permitted.
- Wearing mid-thigh shorts, cargo style pants and cut off sleeve tops is prohibited.
LADIES
In the clubhouse and patio, for ladies (juniors included), their guests and visitors.
- Clothing should be neat and tasteful.
- Shoes must be worn at all times, open toe shoes are allowed but must be neat. Beach sandals and flip flops are strictly prohibited.
- Wearing denim clothing is prohibited, however wearing coloured denim fabric is permitted.
- Golf caps and hats are permitted at the bar, on the patio and in the living rooms, but prohibited in the dining room and the large reception hall.
Metal spike golf shoes are strictly prohibited at all times.
Code of Ethics
These rules apply to all members and their guests. The members must ensure that their guests respect each and every rule set out below.
ON COURSE AND PRACTICE AREAS, FOR LADIES (JUNIORS INCLUDED), THEIR GUESTS AND FOR VISITORS
All clothing marketed for golf is authorized under the following conditions and with the exceptions mentioned below.
- The outfit must be neat and proper with respect to the integrity and traditions of golf.
- The following garments are authorized if they are marketed for golf; sleeveless golf shirts with collar or sleeveless without collar, dresses and sweaters with “mock neck” collar, Bermuda shorts, capris, skirts, dresses, long pants, knickers, and leggings if worn under a dress or skirt.
- A top worn outside a shirt or pant is allowed as long as the shirt covers the torso.
- Golf shoes are mandatory, however, it is prohibited to wear metal spiked shoes.
- Socks must be worn with golf shoes.
- Golf caps and visors must be worn facing forward.
IT IS PROHIBITED TO WEAR THE FOLLOWING CLOTHING
- Denim clothing, no matter the colour, tennis skirts, cargo style pants, swimsuits and tank tops.
- Clothing or equipment displaying a decal, logo, brand trademark or image must identify a golf club, golf equipment manufacturer or a golf apparel designer.
ON COURSE AND PRACTICE AREAS FOR MEN (JUNIORS INCLUDED), THEIR GUESTS AND VISITORS
All clothing marketed for golf is authorized under the following conditions and with the exceptions mentioned below.
- The outfit must be neat and proper with respect to the integrity and traditions of golf.
- The following garments are authorized if they are marketed for golf; long pants with belt, Bermuda shorts with belt or knickers with belt unless elastic band is integrated (in this case, the long knee stocking), polo shirt with collar and sleeves if worn tucked into pants or Bermuda shorts, sweater with “mock neck” collar.
- Socks worn with shorts must not exceed ankle length.
- Golf shoes are mandatory, however, it is prohibited to wear metal spiked shoes.
- Golf caps and visors must be worn facing forward.
IT IS PROHIBITED TO WEAR THE FOLLOWING CLOTHING
- Denim clothing, no matter the colour, mid-thigh shorts, cargo style pants and bermudas, training shirts and camisoles.
- The golfer must play promptly and respect the time limits set by the ethics committee. A round is to be played in under 4 hours and 15 mins including the break at the halfway point of the round.
- Each group must follow the groups preceding. The position of the following group is not taken into account if the rhythm of a group is satisfactory or not.
- Golfer must leave the green and surrounding areas as soon as they have completed their last putt.
- Golfers who are looking for a ball should view it as lost if it is not found within 5 minutes.
- No golfer should play before the golfers proceeding are out of reach.
- The golfer must rake the bunkers after each shot in the sand.
- The golfer must replace his or her divots as soon as the shot is hit.
- The golfer must repair their ball marks on the greens.
- Push carts and electric push carts cannot be within 20 feet of the greens and cannot circulate between the green and the fringe.
- The golfer must comply at all times with the rules of the golf carts set out by the ethics committee.
- The golfers must respect the rules for using the practice facilities.
- The member is responsible for conduct of their guests and caddies.
- The golfer may use the services of their child as a caddy, provided that they are at least 10 years old.
- The member must refrain from misconduct (offensive language, throwing clubs, etc.) and demand the same from their guests.
- Each member must make sure to respect the hours of play associated with his or her category of membership which can be found on the website.
- Tee times can be made with the starter two days prior to the desired date and time.
- Members may submit their preferred playing time and course 7 days in advance via the Club reservation system.
- The system implemented is not a tee time reservation system but rather a place to reserve a preferred date and tee time.
- After receiving the requests, the club will allocate the tee times while taking into account the preferences requested.
- For those who do not have an organized tee time, you can talk to the starter who will do their best to accommodate.
- Members must comply and respect the rules at all times, policies and decisions made by any body, persons, or committee.
- All members, as well as their guests, should behave with politeness and decency and in accordance with the most basic rules of hygiene and propriety.
- All members must exercise their privileges with a goal of maintaining the well being of the club, to not interfere with the privileges of other members and in the spirit of decency and with courtesy to all members and club staff.
- The member who invites one or more guests for a round of golf is subject to sanction by the disciplinary committee if they allow the same guest to play more than 5 times in the same season.
- The members must exclusively use the resources of the Club which are made available to them to play and participate in social activities of the Club; access to any moveable or immovable resource reserved for the use of staff or not directly related to the privileges of a member is prohibited for all members, except for those who are part of the council or a committee.
- The member is responsible for any damage caused to the Club by him/her or by any person associated with his/her actions and his/her guests. The cost of damages is determined by the council.
- Members and guests must refrain from any discussion that is likely to spark tension and refrain from swear words and foul language.
- Member cannot reprimand any staff members. He can however report an issue to the immediate supervisor or director general if necessary. Members must also respect any advice, decision or formal request by the general manager, teaching professionals, starters, restaurant manager, bartender or their assistants; in case of a disagreement, the member many refer to the Director General or to the President.
- It is strictly prohibited for all members and guests to give gratuities to a member of staff except for catering and food service. Respect for the equity of services for all members is the basic rule.
- Members cannot use the name of the Club in any press release of any kind, without the permission of the Director General.
- Members may not bring any drugs or alcohol to be consumed at the Club (inside the chalet, parking lot or outdoor areas).
- No one is allowed to vape, smoke a pipe, smoke a cigar or smoke cigarettes inside the clubhouse or any area under the provisions of the law against smoking.
- Cars must be parked in parking spots and not in the immediate surrounding of the buildings or access roads.
- All interactions with club staff, another member, a guest or administrator should be done with courtesy.
- All interactions made by a member during a meeting of the Club must be carried out in accordance with the general rules and with respect for the organization and its individuals.
- Limited and discrete use of cell phones on course and at the practice facilities are tolerated. However, it should not distract any members or slow down pace of play. Cell phone use is prohibited in the Clubhouse and patio at all times except in locker rooms.
- Each member has a specific member number and must give it to the staff or waitresses every time he/she makes a purchase at the club. He/she must also present their Golf Quebec card upon request.
- No advertising poster of any kind can be posted on the bulletin boards or walls of the Club buildings. Some internal activities can be promoted with a poster of specific dimensions that should not exceed 24 inches by 30 inches. If so, such a poster is subject to approval by the Director General.
- We will immediately accept any family members and immediate members of their entourage.
- No one is allowed to throw cigarette butts on the course or out on the practice facilities. Outdoor ashtrays are provided for this purpose.
- No one is allowed to play music on the course or out on the practice facilities.
- The presence of pets is strictly prohibited on Club property (including the driving range) during hours of operation of the golf season.
- The use of golf carts by a member on the course or on the practice facilities must be carried out according to the rules established by the pro shop.
- The circulation of golf carts may be restricted on certain days due to weather conditions or the conditions of the course. The Superintendent determines the restrictions.
- The signs for golf cart rules of the day will be posted are posted at the first tee of both courses, as well as other areas with golf cart access.
- Any member, driver and or person in charge of driving the golf cart who does not abide by these rules will be liable to the following sanctions.
First Offence
Upon the first violation of these rules, the member will likely receive a verbal warning from a marshal.
Second Offence
Upon the second offence, a written warning will be sent to the member by the general management, indicating a suspension of one week during which he/she will be prohibited from accessing any of the facilities of the Club.
Third Offence
Upon the third offence, the general management will notify the member that he/she is suspended for one week during which time he/she will be prohibited from all access to one or more of the Club’s facilities.
In addition, this notice of suspension will carry an accident report that will be transmitted to the disciplinary committee.
Fourth Offence
Upon the forth offence, the marshal will immediately deliver an accident report to the general management for it to be transferred to the disciplinary committee.
Upon receipt of this incident report, the general management will forward a complaint to the disciplinary committee.
Complaint
- A complaint may be brought against a member by another member of the Club or anyone employed by the Club.
- A complaint must be made in writing and submitted to the Director General, who sends a copy to the members of the Disciplinary Committee as well as to the member appointed cause.
Disciplinary Committee
- The Disciplinary Committee is composed of three shareholder members of the Club and two substitute members.
- The mandate of the disciplinary committee will be to see to the application of the regulations and to identify, following a hearing, the seriousness or otherwise of the wrongdoing alleged against a member and formulating an enforceable sanction with regard to the member. This sanction may be understood by a simple reprimand, suspension, the time limit for which may vary depending on the severity of the sanction or even the outright expulsion of the member; any suspension will not only result in loss of playing privilege, but also access, to the practice areas and to the clubhouse during the period of suspension.
- The committee’s decision is final and cannot be appealed.
- As part of the mandate, the disciplinary committee receives denunciations from the general management of the Club and convenes some in writing the parties involved in a hearing which he/she must see to the applicable regulations of the golf club.
- Therefore, he/she must inform in writing, any member who is the subject of investigation:
a) the nature of the acts alleged against him;
b) Ensuring that full disclosure of the evidence and complaints that the Club may have towards the member be disclosed to him;
c) To assure that at the intended hearing both the Club and the member have the chance to make their views known.
d) Allow the member to cross-examine witnesses and/or interveners of the Club and to allow it to produce any witness and/or any documentation that he sees fit; - The disciplinary committee is responsible for the procedure to be established in the context of the hearings and strives to make decisions in writing within the following seven days.
This regulation repeals and replaces the previous provisions concerning ethics, movement and discipline of the members.
This code of ethics may be amended by the board and any amendment comes into force immediately until the annual assembly of the members which must endorse it. An amendment that is not approved in the annual meeting of members immediately ceases to apply.
